EU AI Act

The European Union's comprehensive regulation on artificial intelligence, classifying AI systems by risk tier with obligations scaled to risk level.

  • Prohibited: social scoring, real-time biometric surveillance
  • High Risk: Annex III categories (employment, education, etc.)
  • GPAI: general-purpose AI models with transparency obligations
  • Limited Risk: chatbots and synthetic media

California AB 2013

Requires developers of generative AI to disclose training data details before making models available in California.

  • Training data sources and types
  • Whether copyrighted or personal data is included
  • Data cleaning and modification practices
  • Use of synthetic data

Effective: January 1, 2026
